I wouldn’t say that becoming a computer programmer was exactly what I had in mind as a child, something more along the lines of a spaceman or rock and roll star I think, but anyway, this is how it ended up.   Perhaps more interesting is where I ended up, which is Prague (which sort of explains the being a programmer bit, as I needed to find a job… any job, when I first arrived!)

So that’s me; I’m a programmer and I live with my family in Prague, Czech Republic.   Although starting out my career in .net, I now mainly do programming for web applications which suits me quite nicely as it’s a fairly creative environment, or at least, it usually is.

At work I am a senior programmer for Glogster.com which is a great site for creative teenagers with too much spare time.    The basic concept is you create posters using images, videos, music, text – basically anything – and express yourself.   There is a fantastic community, really creative and supportive which makes the whole thing quite addictive.

When not at work I like to spend time with my family or play the guitar – in fact I’m trying to combine the two now by teaching Lily to play.   Considering she’s only 8 months old she’s really good at strumming.   Not yet got round to chords yet, although I think there might be some growing in order first considering the guitar is about three times as big as she is!

Something to be avoided if it’s done by me! Wit, intrigue, charm and maybe a hint of emotion – none of which feature in any of these blog articles! However, if you ever need to bore a group of people to tears, I’m your man!
